The Goldberg Variations
Bach's Goldberg Variations, plus a little bit of discussion and a surprising musical pairing! The Calgary Herald wrote in 2022 that "Breen's performance of the Goldberg Varaitions by Bach will be long remembered;" Rachel was also featured in the 2021 award-winning podcast 30 Bach, which explores these variations through an array of its most famed interpreters.
Pianist Hannah Mayer, trombonist Oliver Tuttle, and bassist Aidan McCarthy form a unique trio showcasing their interpretations on jazz standards, Brazilian music, show tunes, and original compositions. Currently pursuing musical and collegiate endeavors around the country, the trio began playing in this configuration during high school through a monthly residency at The Cheeseboard in Berkeley, and have been close friends and collaborators ever since.
Erik Jekabson joins forces with New Orleans native vocalist Kenny Washington to bring the sounds of New Orleans to Oakland. Featuring an all-star quintet of Erik Jekabson on trumpet, Rob Barics on clarinet and tenor sax, Rob Reich on piano, Ron Belcher on bass and Deszon Claiborne on drums.
