Two-time Independent Music Award winning pianist & composer Dan Zemelman is collaborating once again with renowned violinist, composer, and two-time Grammy Award winner, Mads Tolling. Mads and Dan will perform standards from the Great American songbook, arrangements of pop tunes, as well as some original compositions, and even a Danish folk song or two. Get ready for an exhilarating evening of music and improvisation from two of the Bay Area's great jazz performers.
Stella Heath, Rob Reich, Daniel Fabricant will take the listener on a transatlantic journey of song. From the Great American Songbook to French Chanson, the group will cover music from the 1920's through 1960's including works by Gershwin, Berlin, Rodgers and Hart, Edith Piaf and Serge Gainsbourg. The Human Animal Orchestra showcases the folky-jazzy-poetic music of Sarah Gettys, arranged by Peter Barshay. They are delighted to be joined by Javier Santiago on piano.
This performance is also a special virtual gathering to announce One For All Arts, a new organization helping to reimagine how the arts will exist going forward as a result of the current social, economic, and environmental crises that are occurring globally.

This version of The Pit Orchestra is a trio with Edward Simon (piano), Erik Jekabson (trumpet), and Peter Barshay (bass). As the theme for this performance says, they will be playing the music of Thelonious Monk, while exploring the music of other composers.
