This trio of Rio de Janeiro expatriates and current Bay Area residents reunites guitarist Ricardo Peixoto with long time collaborators vocalist Claudia Villela and pianist Marcos Silva. The concert will feature original music from their many recordings, as well as recent compositions and Brazilian classics. Their music draws from the best of Brazilian music combined with the spontaneity and creativity of jazz.
The Cosmo Alleycats, a San Francisco-based swing band, brings to the stage a potent mix of vintage dance music with a dynamic, soulful delivery. They draw from several decades of exhilarating American music to deliver a fun and engaging performance - Swing, Jump Blues, Traditional New Orleans Jazz, and Rhythm & Blues.
Pianist, M.C., producer, composer, and Oakland native Kev Choice brings his unique combination of Jazz, Hip-Hop, Classical, R&B, & Soul, with Giulio Cetto (bass), John "Omayga" Adams (drums), and special guests Viveca Hawkins and Black London.
Mumbai-born, San Jose-based blues artist Aki Kumar blends elements of Indian music into his presentation, making for an undeniable and unique sound that never loses touch with its blues foundation. Kumar will deliver blues classics and Bollywood Blues originals, including cuts from his latest Sony Music album Dilruba. His top-shelf band features June Core (drums), Vance Ehlers (bass) and Rome Yamilov (guitar).
Lydia Pense & Cold Blood debuted when the historic Fillmore was at its peak, and owner Bill Graham immediately signed them to his new record label. During the span of six albums, they forged their own specific brand of funk/soul and R&B, along with Tower Of Power, and it became known as East Bay Grease. Lydia will be accompanied by members of Cold Blood – Steve Dunne on guitar, Evan Palmerston on bass, T Moran on drums, Rich Armstrong on trumpet, and Steve Salinas on keys. They’ll play Lydia’s signature songs as well as new music from their recent release, Soul Of The Gypsy.

Swedish musical sensation Gunhild Carling is an internationally acclaimed superstar. Whether she's singing favorite jazz standards, or playing one of many instruments, Gunhild's sublime showmanship shines through. This award-winning multi-instrumentalist has been featured on Scott Bradlee's Post Modern Jukebox, putting a twenties twist on the 80’s tunes "Material Girl,” "Never Gonna Give You Up,” and “Happy.” She is a jazz artist of the old breed, showing heavy influence from Bix Beiderbecke, Louie Armstrong, and Billie Holiday. She combines extraordinary skills on trumpet and trombone with vaudeville stunts, like playing three trumpets at once.
