Not to be missed! Coming from Paris for the first west-coast tour, a profound renaissance of original swinging jazz through the magic blend of New York-based singer and lyricist Tatiana Eva-Marie, Israeli guitar prodigy, Duved Dunyavesky, and California-born songwriter and violinist, Adrian Delmer. They will present their own compositions filled with delightful melodies charming lyrics, as well as a selection of golden age jazz tunes.
Yoron Israel and his cutting-edge jazz ensemble High Standards have graced stages all over the world. Celebrated for forging elite standards in jazz performance since their formation in 2004, their original works and creative arrangements speak to the 21st century influences and beyond. The four virtuosic musicians will forge a road untraveled in imagination, mesmerizing audiences from their very first note. Featuring Yoron Israel (drums, leader, composer), Mike Zilber (tenor & soprano saxophone), Matt Clark (piano), and Jeff Chambers (bass).
“Virtuosos on clarinet and saxophone” (New York Times), identical twins and Juilliard graduates Peter and Will Anderson can be heard on the Grammy-winning soundtrack of HBO’s “Boardwalk Empire.” The Andersons' quintet will explore the music of Duke Ellington, with songs including "Take the A Train," "It Don't Mean a Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing," "I Got It Bad and That Ain't Good," and "Cottontail."
Rachel Breen, a recent Juilliard graduate and winner of many international competitions currently concertizing around Europe, will perform works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Schubert, Schumann, Scriabin, and Stravinsky, and discuss the music. This eclectic but carefully curated set of repertoire is focused on the convergences between emotional states, musical periods, and stages of life. Light refreshments and lively conversation will follow the recital!
