Joel Tepper, solo piano
Joel Tepper performs an afternoon of solo classical piano music. The program consists of Haydn’s Sonata in C Major Hob.XVI:35, Chopin’s Nocturne in Eb Major Opus 55 No. 2, Debussy’s 1st Arabesque, the Brahms Sonata in F Minor Opus 5 No. 3, and three pieces by Justin Levitt, an award winning Contra Costa County composer.

Joel Tepper received his BA from the University of California at Berkeley and his MFA from Mills College. He has performed with the San Francisco Symphony and the Berkeley Promenade Orchestra as well as giving solo recitals at the University of California at Berkeley, Stanford, Herbst Theater in San Francisco, the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek, the San Francisco Jewish Community Center, and the Cadillac Hotel in San Francisco. He teaches at the Crowden Center for Music in the Community in Berkeley, the Veksler Academy of Music and Dance in Sunnyvale, and the Lynda McManus Piano Company in San Ramon. His prominent teachers have been Marcus Gordon, Bernhard Abramowitsch, Julian White and Adele Marcus.
